St Albans households and businesses will soon be asked for their views on the district’s latest Local Plan.

From January 2018 they can have their say on the sort of homes being built and how land should be used from 2020 to 2036.

St Albans council had to compose a new Local Plan after the High Court rejected their previous one as they had not cooperated with nearby councils.

The council’s portfolio holder for planning Mary Maynard said: “The council is actively progressing discussions with other South West Herts councils on cross-border and common issues.

“However our residents’ views and opinions are vital to ensuring a Local Plan that works for everyone in the district. I would urge everyone to get involved.”

Householders will be sent a questionnaire on where development should happen, and they will also be asked what infrastructure will be needed to support development.
