The journey from teenage years into young adulthood has been captured by Georgia Lynne Allen, a former Harpenden schoolgirl (pictured), who has just published her first collection of poems.

Home Coming, written by the former St George’s School pupil, encompasses tales of childhood naiveté, semi-grown-up troubles and the feeling of looking forward through backwards eyes.

Georgia has been writing poetry from a young age and finished Home Coming whilst studying English Literature and Drama at the University of East Anglia. She is currently finishing her degree and hopes to work in the theatre.

Home Coming is published by Zest Publishing which says: “One of the essential qualities of writing captivating poetry is also one of the qualities essential to being good at living: a capacity for wonder and surprise, of which there is plenty in Georgia’s poems.”
