Nearly 100 people gathered to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Harpenden Seniors Forum last week.

As well as some of the forum’s 1,500 members, the tea party was also attended by the town mayor David Heritage, the forum’s president Alan Cox and his wife Rita.

The forum’s chair Fiona Gaskell said “We are very pleased with the success of this event, which demonstrates how the forum has grown and developed over the past ten years.

“Alan Cox deserves all the credit for his drive and initiative in getting the forum going and establishing it as a well-known local organisation.

“By happy coincidence the event was held on Alan and his wife’s 54th wedding anniversary, so it was a very special day for them.”

Membership of the forum is free and all of its members live in the AL5 postcode area, which covers Harpenden.
