HARPENDEN: Two pothole-strewn Harpenden roads are to be resurfaced this month with the work scheduled to last around three weeks.

The work on Topstreet Way and Milton Road is scheduled to begin on today (Monday, February 7), and due to be completed by February 28, weather permitting.

Stuart Pile, the county council’s executive member for highways and transport, said: “Some degree of disruption and delay is to be expected as a result of these essential maintenance works.

“While we will make every effort to minimise inconvenience, the work has to be carried out while the road is closed for the safety of our workers and all road users. However, wherever possible we will maintain access for residents although access to individual drives will be affected for short periods.”
