The Friends of Cosne stayed in the town for a long weekend and were given accommodation in private homes, some staying with families they had grown to know over years of twinning.

During their stay they visited the town of Moulin and its costume museum, and on Sunday evening they attended a soirée and a civic reception given by the Mayor of Cosne.

Cllr Gill Clark, chairwoman of the Friends of Cosne, said: “I have been involved with Friends of Cosne since the early nineties and love visiting the town and seeing old friends. This year two former members of the Friends of Harpenden who have moved away came back during our visit.

“The wonderful welcome, the privilege of staying in peoples’ homes, the delicious food and the interesting places to which we have been taken all contribute to the pleasure of town twinning.”
