POLICE are going out on tour this weekend to help local residents secure their property against burglars.

The Harpenden Neighbourhood Team with their mobile police station will be visiting each ward in the area for about two hours to highlight the ways residents can help reduce burglaries, as well as encouraging them to sign up to Neighbourhood Watch.

The team will also be on hand to give out crime prevention advice and leaflets for people to take away, as well as offering a free crime prevention survey of residential properties.

On Saturday they will be in:

*Wheathampstead from 9am to 11am, in the High Street, outside the church.

*Harpenden town centre from midday until 2.30pm, in Lower High Street, near to the concourse outside Boots

*Harpenden North from 3pm until 5pm, outside Londis and the parade of shops

On Sunday they will be in:

*Harpenden South between 10.30am until 12.30pm outside Somerfield

*Harpenden East from 1pm until 2.30pm outside the Co-op in Lower Luton Road

*Redbourn between 3pm and 5pm in the High Street
