A tennis player from Harpenden is hoping to net £1,500 for charity, by cycling 270 miles from Vietnam to Cambodia.
Maurizio Borgatti, 53, of Paddock Wood, is raising money for Sense International, a sister charity of Sense UK, where he works as corporate development manager.
The charity supports deafblind people – a multi-sensory impairment where some are completely deaf and blind, but many have a little sight or hearing they can use.
Maurizio is swapping a tennis racket for a hybrid mountain and road bike in Vietnam to raise funds.
He said: “I have lived in Harpenden for the past 25 years and play tennis at both Harpenden and Elliswick tennis clubs. Two-hundred-and-seventy miles is roughly the equivalent of cycling 8,200 times around a tennis court!”
Maurizio has over the past five years raised over £6,000 for various charities completing other cycling challenges, including from London to Paris. His next one begins in Vietnam on March 1.
