Harpenden man arrested after allegedly stealing poppy appeal boxes

A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing poppy appeal charity boxes from two Harpenden pubs.

It is believed he entered the Engineer in St John’s Road and Carpenters Arms in Cravells Road on November 6 between 10-11pm, where he stole the boxes containing donated money.

The 29 year old man was arrested on suspicion of theft yesterday (9) and has been released on bail until December 21.
