Harpenden Lions Club members will be collecting funds for vital relief work in the wake of the devastation caused by typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines at Harpenden station tomorrow morning, from 6:30am to 09:30am.
Lions Clubs in the British Isles and Ireland have pledged to raise £200,000 to send 1,000 LifeSaver water filtration systems to the affected area. The Harpenden collection will help in raising the promised funds.
The funds will be administered by Lions Clubs International Foundation ( LCIF) who support the compassionate humanitarian service of 1.35 million Lions in 208 countries and geographic areas by providing grant funding and developing programmes that improve lives around the world.
