Residents, schoolchildren and First Harpenden Brownies have tested their green fingers by taking part in the Harpenden in Bloom summer planting day.
The volunteers have been planting in the town centre with the promise of future blooms which will colour the streets of Harpenden.
Students from Roundwood Primary School and St George’s School have been invited to design two of the flowerbeds on Rothamsted Avenue.
The Roundwood children used yellow marigolds to make their school crest while St George’s students planted flowers to represent their house colours.
