A Harpenden hockey player caught the running bug when he sped around the Virgin Money London Marathon this year.
Chris Steele spent his 40th birthday, on April 28, tackling the 26.2 mile race to raise money for Bede House, a charity which provides a range of support for people living in Southwark.
As the only representative for the organisation, he managed to raise nearly £5,000.

It was Chris' first marathon. He said: “It was an incredible experience, mind blowing - I loved it.
“It was my plan to enjoy it as much as possible, and my family and friends were all around the course cheering me on. The crowd really do push you along.”
Chris finished the race in four hours, 15 minutes and 30 seconds - paced with both 13.1 miles completed in nearly exactly the same time. Having caught the “running bug”, Chris is looking to complete another marathon in a different part of the country.
