TEN cars have been vandalised in Harpenden over the past fortnight.

Six of the incidents took place in Carlton Road, three in Cornwall Road and another in Devonshire Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about any of the incidents.

Among the incidents in Carlton Road was a black Land Rover which was scratched down the whole of one side between midnight and 6pm on Wednesday, July 22, and a black MG saloon which was scratched along the driver's side on the same day.

A red Honda had the passenger side scratched in Cornwall Road overnight on Monday, July 27, and a silver Audi was scratched on the passenger side in Devonshire Road between 10am and 6.30pm on Tuesday, July 28, and the letters DRK were written on the bonnet.

Investigating officer, Pc Sam Carroll, said: "Vandalising vehicles is a criminal offence and anyone doing this will be dealt with robustly. Not only is it extremely upsetting for the car owners but it is also costly to repair and an inconvenience."

Anyone with information about the vandalism or who knows who DRK might be is asked to call him on the non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
