A member of the public has helped catch a motorist who allegedly failed to stop following an incident.
Police were called at 3.23am on Sunday, August 26 after a crash between a silver Mercedes and a red Honda Jazz on Lower Luton Road in Luton.
The Mercedes driver had left the scene before police arrived, but a member of the public said they detained them in Batford and stopped them getting in a cab.
The driver was arrested at 4.23am near to Batford Co-Op on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision and drink driving.
• Daniel Clee, 42, of Holden Close, Hertford, has been charged with drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He is due to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on September 24.
