A HARPENDEN church played host to over 70 brownies and guides this month to mark the centenary of girlguiding in the UK.
The girls from 10th Harpenden, who were joined by their leaders and ex-guiders, came together at the High Street Methodist Church to kick-start a year of celebrations.
The party included a chance to try street dancing and circus skills - activities unheard of 100 years ago.
Atalie Gaines, from Girlguiding Harpenden & Redbourn, said: "It was a fantastic event, attended by girls for whom guiding is an important part of modern life and by many older members of the movement for whom guiding has been a main stay of their lives.
"It was great to see young and old celebrating an organisation that has meant so much to so many.
