An ‘enthusiastic’ golfing event in Harpenden resulted in hundreds of pounds being raised for two village organisations.

The Cricketers Golf Society held a charity day recently at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club to help celebrate the organisation’s 30th anniversary.

A spokesman for the society said the event was “enthusiastically attended” by 55 local golfers, who enjoyed a round of golf followed by a BBQ at The Cricketers of Redbourn.

He added: “Money was raised to support two local charities at both ends of the life spectrum, Redbourn Care Group and Redbourn Infant and Nursery School - £370 was raised for each charity.”
