A HARPENDEN club set up in the post-war years to celebrate friendship and flowers enjoyed its 55th birthday recently.
The Harpenden Floral Club threw a tea party for its 100 plus members last Tuesday in an event called Puttin’ on the Glitz.
Mayor Michael Weaver attended the party which also included a recap on the club’s history. The Floral Club was set up in 1958 by Paddy Jackson for the women of Harpenden.
The group meets monthly on the first Tuesday of each month in Harpenden Public Halls. Visitors are welcome.
