HARPENDEN-based Stanley Handling has supplied a new ROBUR 4-way stacker to Stewart Milne Timber Systems for its 10m automated production facility in Oxfordshire. The company is the UK's leading provider of timber system solutions to the house building and construction sectors.

The bundled timber used in the plant is unloaded and handled outdoors by heavy duty 4-way trucks but the company required a more compact unit for movements within the plant. Stanley Handling was called in and proposed the ROBUR SBP/ 4V pedestrian 4-way stacker to enable safe, swift and efficient transporting of timber between storage, sawing and manufacturing areas.

The 3000kg electric truck was specified to provide increased flexibility in cantilever racking and boasts a 1920mm lowered mast height with a maximum lift height of 3500mm. The unit's robust manufacture has proved reliable and productive and its compact dimensions, ergonomic controls and Stanley Handling's comprehensive training have been a hit with operators.
