VISITORS have flocked to the United Reformed Church in Harpenden over the past two Saturdays to see a fascinating collection of Bibles. The event took place to mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Version and featured 95 different Bibles, including a 1621 copy of the Douay-Rheims New Testament. There were also foreign Bibles, children’s Bibles and copies which people had bought in from home.
Rev Leonora Jagessar said: “We had a good turn out and people were quite impressed by the scope of Bibles that we had on display.”
