Harpenden Choral Society presented a cheque for more than £500 to St Albans and District Citizens Advice Bureau which was raised at their annual carol concert.
Gill Mourant, chair of the choral society, presented the cheque for £582 to Citizens Advice Bureau chair Greg Comninos at the end of February.
The money was donated by audience members at the choral society’s Christmas carol concert on December 19 last year.
Choral society member Maggie Geraghty said: “We choose a different charity every year for our Christmas concert. We try to choose something that one of our choir members is involved with.
“We always ask the choir if they want to nominate charities - the year before it was for a music charity that does music for people with Alzheimer’s. “About 120 people attended the concert and somebody from Citizen’s Advice gave a talk at the end about the charity.”
