A 25-year-old man is on his way back to prison after being arrested for conspiring to commit burglary in Harpenden.

He and a 38-year-old man were parked up on Luton Road at about 4.30pm on Wednesday, April 25.

Officers from Operation Scorpion, which specialises in burglary and robbery, spotted them with a passenger and stopped the vehicle.

They then found tools and gloves in the Toyota, and arrested two of the men on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.

The 38-year-old has been released under investigation, while the 25-year-old, who was wanted on recall to prison, is currently in police custody.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
