FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at a hotel in St Albans yesterday, which caused guests to be evacuated.
The fire at the Avalon hotel on London Road is believed to have started in the loft area just after 5.30pm.
Crews dealt with the blaze promptly but said it had the potential to be a serious fire. It was extinguished after a couple of hours.
