Police are investigating the incident in London Colney


Twenty youths targeted a house in London Colney last Monday (28) and caused significant damage to the property, smashing a window.

After arriving at about 10.30pm the youths caused significant criminal damage to a window allegedly attempted to kick the door down at the home in Five Acres, a witness claims.

The source, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Herts Advertiser that he saw five or six cars pull up outside the property, and scenes of violence.

He added a man came out of the house in his boxers to try and talk to them.

The source said: “The car was revving up so much I genuinely thought he was going to run him over.”

The person added that they had lived there for a long time, but had never seen anything like it.

“There’s been very little violence.

“Two weeks ago we heard an altercation outside the property but this was a different level the other night,” they said.

PC Clare Lapenna is investigating and said: “Understandably, neighbours may have been concerned about this incident but I would like to reassure residents that we believe this was a targeted incident.

“We have been out in the area already to speak with possible witnesses and are making other inquiries also, but I would appeal to anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation to please contact me.”

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are currently investigating the situation and appealing for witnesses.
