A six-year-old from St Albans has raised over £500 for Watford Hospital’s Starfish Ward.
Cora Varshney was diagnosed with a brain tumour after a scan at Watford General Hospital in April and is receiving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital, while being supported by the Starfish Ward.
Her mum, Alanna, said: “It’s the most shocking thing that has ever happened to us, but it’s brought a lot of good our way, too.
“The support we have received from our friends and our community is incredible.
“So when Cora said she wanted to do a lemonade stand – something she’s been asking to do since Christmas – we knew that once we had a week when she was feeling up to it, we needed to do it.”
Cora set up her stand on Saturday, August 4, selling homemade American-style lemonade and ice lollies, and raised £325 on the day on top of £280 through her JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lovelylemonade
