Govia Thameslink Railway ‘cannot comment’ on an MP’s call to compensate commuters without season tickets.
The current compensation scheme was introduced after months of disruption on Thameslink rail services, however it only covers season ticket holders and people who buy other tickets, such as carnet, have been told to apply through Delay Repay.
Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden said: “The thousands of passengers who either buy tickets every day, use carnet tickets or contactless cards have had to put up with the exact same level of disruption as those who have purchased season tickets.
“It is not fair they are forced to claim for only a very small amount of compensation when season ticket holders will receive the additional compensation.”
A Thameslink spokesperson said they could not comment on calls to extend the scheme

They added: “The additional industry compensation scheme, which GTR is administering on behalf of the industry, has been offered to customers in agreement with the Department for Transport.”
