WITH their annual gift fair only just over a week away, members of Harpenden Circle have been busy knocking on doors in the town selling programmes.

The annual charity event, which raised £18,000 last year and won a national award, is being held in the Public Halls next Friday and Saturday, November 20 and 21.

Members of the Circle, which is a group of young women aged 18 to 45 who work closely with Harpenden Round Table, 41 Club and Tangent, have been out and about on Tuesday nights knocking on doors and selling programmes.

But for anyone who has missed them, they will be in the High Street shaking buckets and handing out balloons this Saturday and Sunday.

This year the proceeds from the gift fair will go to Ali's Appeal at the Hospice of St Francis, Alzheimer's Research Trust and Community Meeting Point in Harpenden.

The gift fair is now in its 35th year and the amount it has raised with support from local businesses and organisations won a national award last year.

Further details about the gift fair can be found on the website www.harpendencircle.co.uk
