WORK on slowing down traffic coming into a village from a busy roundabout gets underway on Monday.

A gateway feature indicating that traffic is entering a village and the speed limit is 30mph is being installed at the Sainsbury's roundabout where it joins Barnet Road in London Colney.

The work, which will include the widening of a pedestrian refuge, is expected to last for up to 10 days and will operate outside of peak periods from 10am to 4pm.

It will mean the closure of the westbound exit lane from the roundabout with traffic diverted along the London Colney bypass and the High Street. The eastbound lane will be unaffected.
