RAIN did not deter thousands of people from turning out for the annual Classics on the Common event in Harpenden last night.
Although it rained on and off during the four and a half hours that the classic cars were on show on the common, the event proved as popular as ever.
It featured more than a thousand vehicles representative of the growth of the motor industry in the twentieth century.
Set up in 1994 by Peter Madden, the event is now run by Harpenden Village Rotary Club.
