EVERYONE from novices to veterans took part in Radlett Flower Show on Saturday.

Nearly 250 visitors enjoyed the show at Newberries JMI School in the village and the number of exhibits was up to 424 with particularly substantial increases in the vegetable and domestic classes.

Children's classes were also well supported proving the success of the society's policy, built up over the past few years, of stimulating young people's interest in gardening.

Numbers increased in both the general children's classes as well as the two Aylett competitions for the under 10s and the 11 to 16 age group. There were 25 entries in the latter two classes for which all the plants and prize money was sponsored by the St Albans nursery.
