Further appeal to find missing Alan Spray
THREE weeks since the disappearance of an elderly man, the family are renewing appeals to find him.
Alan Spray, 73, was last seen on CCTV on Verulam Road in St Albans on Saturday July 30 at around 8.10pm.
His family have released a new image of the belt Alan was wearing, which contains the car manufacturer Vauxhall’s emblem. Alan, who used to work for them, was also carrying with him his house key which had three distinctive key fobs attached. One, in the style of a car registration, is yellow and reads ALAN. Another fob is a white oval shaped beeping fob which no longer works and the other is a bronze New York Yankees disc.
Family and friends have undertaken numerous searches and hundreds of police officers have been involved but there have been no confirmed sightings of Alan since he was last seen.
Alan, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and lives in Hatfield, is described as a white man and 5ft 9ins tall. He is balding on top and has grey hair to the sides and wears glasses. He was wearing a brown and blue short-sleeved shirt and brown/grey trousers.
Police ask people to be aware that his clothes may have changed and he may now have facial hair.
Detective Inspector Fraser Wylie said: “Understandably, Alan’s family are beside themselves wanting to know he is ok. They have been out looking for him themselves in support of the work by police.

“Once again I would like to extend my gratitude to the many members of the public who have been in contact with possible sightings of Alan. I am keen to keep his image at the forefront of people’s minds in case they see him anywhere.
“We have no idea how far Alan could have gone from St Albans so I am appealing to people all over to look out for him.”
