Five fridge-freezers have been found fly-tipped outside a primary school in Sandridge.
The discarded fridges were discovered dumped outside Sandridge Primary School in Woodcock Hill this morning.
Photographer Sherree Scales, 38, who spotted the fridges and took photos, said: “I thought it was absolutely disgusting as that was my old primary school. It’s the village school and it’s the only school in Sandridge.
“That’s where the parents drop their children off. They’re either going to step on broken bits of plastic, glass or whatever other filaments are in most fridges.”
Maria Stagg, deputy head of community Services at St Albans council, said: “We are aware of this fly tipping incident.
“One of our officers will be attending the site today to check for evidence, and the police will determine if they can retrieve finger prints. Then we will arrange for the fridges to be removed.
“The council takes fly-tipping very seriously, and we will prosecute if we can.”
