The store in Heritage Close, which has been running since 1991, will be offering free comic books from 10am on Saturday, May 4.

Store manager Luke Ridge said: “This year sees the biggest and most diverse selection yet! Titles like Buffy and Stranger Things all the way to The Avengers and Spider-Man.

“The day is a celebration of the industry, its people and the wonderful work they do. There will be titles for the little ones and the adults, boys and girls alike.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to dip into the world of comics if you’ve never done so before. Don’t miss out!”

Free Comic Book Day started in 2002 to coincide with the release of that year’s Spider-Man movie.

This year 49 titles will be available in store on a first-come, first-served basis.
