A four-week improvement scheme on a busy Harpenden road gets underway on Monday, August 4.
The £150,000 project includes installing a zebra crossing at Piggottshill Lane’s junction with Grove Road and Southdown Road and resurfacing the road.
The work, which is scheduled to be completed within four weeks, will take place between 7.30am and 6.30pm, with access maintained for residents and customers of businesses.
Terry Douris, the county council’s cabinet member for highways, said: “We understand that these works are likely to cause a degree of inconvenience to road users. We apologise for this and would ask everyone for their co-operation while the work is in progress.”
The work is weather dependent and if any changes have to be made to the proposed start date, duration or working hours, they will be announced on the information boards on site and at www.hertfordshire.roadworks.org
