Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway of the M1 this morning near Redbourn after a seven vehicle collision.
The incident happened at around 6.24am between junctions 9 and 10 and all lanes were compromised.
Four people were taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital by ambulance.
