APPRENTICE winner Stella English who was formerly employed at one of Lord Alan Sugar’s firms in St Albans has lost her claim of constructive dismissal against the businessman.

Ms English, 34, alleged she had no real role at her £100,000-a-year job at Lord Sugar’s IT company, Viglen, based in Colney Street.

But following an employment hearing which took place last month, tribunal judge John Warren announced the claim had been rejected on the grounds there was no dismissal as she had resigned.

Commenting on today’s ruling Lord Sugar tweeted: “The Tribunal case brought by Stella English against me and my company has been dismissed. A victory for the law against the claim culture.”

Ms English secured her six-figure salary position after winning the BBC TV show in 2010.
