The former Herts Advertiser journalist Paul Humphreys has died after a long illness. He was 63.

Paul was brought up in St Albans and began his career as a 17-year-old trainee reporter with the Advertiser. He went on to work for The Sun, The Times and the Daily Telegraph where he wrote features on leisure and travel.

He had recently been living in Kent where he was a senior editor for Saga Magazine.

Paul leaves a wife and two step-daughters. His funeral will take place at West Herts Crematorium, Garston, at 2pm on August 3.
