It’s the biggest event in the district’s business calendar, with more than 300 representatives of different companies attending the St Albans Chamber of Commerce’s annual St George’s Day lunch.
The event, which took place at Sopwell House, featured comedy legend Barry Cryer OBE as guest speaker, plus a lookalike Queen and Roman Centurion to add an extra spot of glamour.
Michael Duffy from headline sponsors The Centurion Club said: “It was a great event that we were proud to be part of. Congratulations all round”
Lisa Bates-Wallis, executive director of St Albans Chamber of Commerce said “We had a fantastic afternoon at Sopwell House with fantastic food and service again this year. I am delighted that we were able to raise so much money for Mount Vernon Charitable Trust and also The OLLIE Foundation. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors and the generous people donating auction items, bidding for them or giving up their time to make the event such a huge success.”
