A cannabis factory was sprung after firefighters were called to reports of flooding in the flat below.
The fire crews arrived at the scene in Prospect Road, St Albans, at around 6pm on September 10 to find water coming through the ceiling of a flat but they were unable to gain entry to the property above to find the source of the flooding. Police were called and they forced their way into the property where they discovered 90 cannabis plants which were then seized.
A 42-year-old man from St Albans was subsequently arrested on suspicion of cultivating the drug and he has been released on police bail until the end of October.
