HEAVY rain is set to soak the county this evening and may even lead to localised flooding.
Weather forecasts indicate heavy rain from early evening today (Thursday) and Herts Highways have warned that it could make driving conditions dangerous.
Road users are asked to be on alert, take extra care on the roads and leave more time than usual for their journey.
Derek Twig from Herts Highways said: "Emergency response crews from Hertfordshire Highways will be on hand to deal with any flooding or possible emergencies arising as a result of the potentially hazardous driving conditions.
