FIRST Capital Connect (FCC) passengers will be relieved to learn that after two days of severe disruption on the Thameslink route after an electric cable broke onto a train passing through Radlett station, service has this afternoon (Friday) returned to normal.
Trains are now running normally between Luton and London St Pancras International following overhead wire problems at Radlett on Wednesday February 13, when a cable snapped on to a FCC train, resulting in the evacuation of five trains in the area.
Major disruption followed, with buses organised to ferry passengers to alternative stations, where they faced further delays.
A disgruntled FCC commuter today said: “I am so relieved that days of travelling agony are finally over and that I won’t have to keep getting on and off replacement coaches and delayed trains this evening.”
There are, however, still minor delays because of earlier congestion.
