At the tender age of seven weeks, little Nina Dodd had the honour of helping her mum cut a celebratory first birthday cake.
The SS Stephen and Julian Community Cafe in St Albans was the brainchild of Maggie Tingle and she was asked to cut the cake with Nina’s help to mark its first 12 months.
The cake was made by Harriet Sherlock, a member of the congregation of St Stephens, and plenty of people turned out for the celebration, particularly as there had been a comprehensive leaflet drop in the local area which also notified residents about the introduction of computer tuition at the cafe.
The cafe runs every Thursday and offers people a chance to drop in and chat over a coffee, home-made cake and light refreshments
