A FIRE broke out in a launderette in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday)
Firefighters from St Albans were called to the scene in Southdown Road, Harpenden, at around 3.30am and found thick smoke engulfing the ground-floor shop.
Four firefighters wearing breathing equipment entered the launderette and put out the fire.
A thermal imaging camera was also used to source any hotspots.
The blaze was out by 4.15am and a fire investigation is taking place today in order to establish the cause.
