A BURST water pipe caused flooding in a block of flats yesterday (Sunday).
Firefighters from St Albans were called to the scene in Casson Court, Napsbury Park, at around 5.20pm in the afternoon.
On arrival they found water spraying out of a split pipe in a first-floor cupboard and it was gushing down the stairs.
The flood was already a couple of inches deep in the foyer and had damaged the carpet and dcor.
After locating the source of the leak, the firefighters isolated the water supply and pumped the water out of the building.
The water had started creeping under the door of one of the flats but firefighters were unable to gain entry to another property which they thought might have been affected.
