FIREFIGHTERS are currently working to put out several fires thought to have been started deliberately in a local woodland.
The pockets of fire were discovered at around 8.30am this morning (Friday) in Bricket Wood Common, off School Lane, and a crew from Garston were the first on the scene.
They were soon joined by firefighters from St Albans who are providing them with a water shuttle from a hydrant in nearby Station Road.
Police are also on the scene.
It’s the second time this month that firefighters have been called to put out fires which have been started deliberately on the common.
