Firefighters rescued a horse from a dual carriage by St Albans yesterday evening.

The equine was straddled a fence next to the A414 - a busy road which runs from Hemel Hempstead to Buncefield.

Crews from Hatfield released the horse, using small tools, at about 8pm on May 30.
