Firefighters extinguish blaze at Redbourn traveller site

Two sheds and a motor scooter were destroyed following a fire yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

Crews from St Albans, Redbourn and Hemel were called to Ver Meadows traveller site at around 1pm and successfully put out the blaze.

It is believed fire spread from a dismantled shed to a fence and then to a second shed containing various items. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

A disused motor scooter was also destroyed in the fire, but no one was injured following the incident.

The crews put out what was said to be a ten square foot fire in around 20 minutes.
