A family was evacuated and a cat rescued following a house fire in a three storey property yesterday (Mon).
Firefighters were called to a converted barn in Lye Lane, Bricket Wood, to put out a fire that occurred on the first floor of the property just before midday.
The occupants of the home escaped unharmed, and four firefighters entered the building to extinguish the flames and rescue the cat who was trapped on the first floor.
It is believed the fire started in a central heating cupboard and the house was left with severe smoke damage.
