Serious damage has been caused to some derelict garages in St Albans after an arson attack on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the row of garages off Hughenden Road in Marshalswick at about 9pm and extinguished the blaze using two hose reels and two sets of breathing apparatus.

The fire was put out by 9.45pm and no one was hurt in the incident.
