FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a blaze in a car which had overheated on a St Albans road at lunchtime.
The driver of the red Peugeot saloon noticed that the bonnet was smoking whilst driving down Lemsford Road at around 1.45pm this afternoon.
A St Albans fire engine was on the scene within minutes and took less than half an hour to put out the fire. The driver of the car escaped unharmed.
