FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze which engulfed a community building last night.
The two crews from St Albans were called to the Christ Church Centre along High Oaks in the New Greens Estate in St Albans at around 11.15pm.
On arrival they found the wooden building of around 20 metres by 15 metres well alight but it was all out by midnight.
The cause of the blaze is doubtful and a fire investigation is now underway.
