FIREFIGHTERS were called to a rubbish fire on a building site last night (Thursday).
The crew from St Albans fire station rushed to Lattimore Road in the city centre at around 11pm and found a pile of burning rubbish on top of an empty petrol drum.
There were initially concerns that gas cylinders were involved but this was soon ruled out and firefighters left the scene within 10 minutes after putting out the flames.
The cause of the fire is being treated as doubtful.
